Proposed Water Main Renewal – Road Works

Four workers in safety gear repairing a water pipe in a trench on a rural road

Yorkshire Water are planning to replace the clean water mains on Arthington Lane (A659) in Pool in Wharfedale.

This section of water main has experienced a historically high number of repairs. By renewing it, we’re aiming to reduce the frequency of bursts and unplanned interruptions to supply, as well as improve overall water quality for customers in the area.

This is the closure breakdown; the other works will be completed under traffic lights and will extend to just past Tower Drive on Arthington Lane (A659).

They will plan to open the road over the August bank holiday weekend. Following this, traffic management would move to temporary traffic signals, which are expected to remain in place until 5 December 2026.
