Healthwatch Leeds is an independent champion that ensures the voices of local citizens shape NHS and social care services. Located at the Old Gipton Fire Station on Gipton Approach, it gathers public feedback on local GPs, dentists, and hospitals, and provides direct advice, information, and signposting services. Healthwatch is funded by the Department for Health via Leeds City Council. Despite being funded by government and council grants, Healthwatch Leeds operates as an entirely independent Community Interest Company (CIC). This ensures that its reports, evaluations, and patient advocacy remain completely unbiased by the organisations that run the NHS.
