A658 Pool – Further Traffic Disruption

Road repair crew using mini excavator and shovel behind safety barriers on residential street

Northern Powergrid (NPG) are carrying out urgent repairs to a fault on the A658 Main Street, Pool in Wharfedale. It is fully appreciated that this work is causing significant additional traffic disruption at a time when the village is also suffering whilst the water mains are being replaced. It is noted that if the faulty cable is not urgently repaired by NPG it could result in loss of power to several hundred homes and businesses.

In order to carry out the works safely there are temporary traffic signals in place at the junction of Main Street with Mill Lane (outside the Post Office). NPG have prioritised this work and expect to be complete by the end of the week. Please be aware that reinstatements on a road of this type need time to cure. The forecasted temperatures this week may result in extended time when the road appears to be complete but cannot be safely used by traffic.

Essential access to properties and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

The location of the works is shown at https://one.network/?GB151852638
