Lawnswood Roundabout Update

As the final stages of the project are upon us, works are taking place across all the site areas, with the major focus being on the surfacing works on the full roundabout.

Other works include preparations for the installation of NAL sockets for the signal systems, amending a BT box chamber in area 4a, and the fabrication of the 5 bay bus shelter, which is happening off site ready for installation which is anticipated to be installed this month.

Night Works Update
The night works started as planned last Tuesday 1st September and progressed well. Heavy rain on Thursday meant works had to be postponed, and the roundabout remained open that night.

The 36 hour closure went ahead starting Saturday 5th at 7pm, lasting until 6am Monday 7th.
The final surfacing cannot be laid in wet weather unfortunately, this meant work continued Monday 7th & Tuesday 8th nightimes. There will be a further quadrant closure (night) to finish off the works on this part of the programme, on Friday 18th.

During the works the contractor has issued multiple updates to local residents and would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to get in touch and advise of access requirements during the
work. They have had several marshal teams on site throughout the closures and thank everyone who has worked with them in a courteous manner.
