LATEST UPDATE:
FROM YORKSHIRE WATER: The burst has now been successfully repaired and our teams are currently progressing the final stages of the work, including backfilling and highway reinstatement.
To allow the repair to be undertaken safely, a road closure was put in place on Main Street. We appreciate this has added to existing disruption in the area associated with our ongoing mains replacement scheme and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.
I am advised that the current road closure will be changed later this morning at around 11.30am to three-way temporary traffic lights with a temporary pedestrian crossing, which will allow traffic movements to resume while the reinstatement works are completed.
Yorkshire Water have informed us of a water burst on Main Street, Pool, in the vicinity of Wharfedale Court. They attended site late last night and we understand that the burst has been repaired.
Main Street is currently closed to traffic as a result. The situation is currently being assessed in terms of associated damage and YW will commence the repair to the road as soon as possible.
Essential access to properties and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
