IRONMAN Leeds is the only full distance Ironman event in the UK. A two lap swim in the calm waters of Waterloo Lake, a challenging but truly Yorkshire three-loop bike course with sections from former editions of the iconic Tour de Yorkshire including Black Hill climb, finishing up with a four-loop run course that will carry the athletes all the way to the red carpet in the centre of Roundhay Park.

It mostly skirts the ward area but there are some road closures in the ward for the cycling part of the event. These are along Arthington Lane (coming from the Harewood and Weardley direction) then up Black Hill, Arthington Road, along Church Lane, then into Back Church Lane and Stair Foot Lane where the route then continues onwards into Alwoodley.
